Essential Oil Index ~ Lemon

Lemon

Latin Name: Citrus limonumCitrus_limonum_(Köhler)

Plant/Part: Fruit/Peel

Note: Top

Planet: Sun/Moon

Element: Water

Affinity: REFRESHING – Health, healing, physical energy, purification

Aroma

The essential oil, cold pressed from the outer rind of lemons, has the crisp, clean scent of the fruit itself.

Inhale the refreshing scent to maintain health and as an adjunct to conventional medial treatment.

The lively scent also activates the body, dispelling sluggishness. Inhaling fresh lemon zest or the essential oil first thing in the morning is the aromatic substitute for a cup of coffee.

Adding undiluted lemon essential oil to the bath or rubbing it into the skin will cause irritation and is best avoided.
